Terminally Ill Girl Fulfills Dream Of Meeting Ed Sheeran

A little girl with a very rare and debilitating disease got the chance to meet her idol, Ed Sheeran, recently. Nine-year-old Caitlin Passey, who lives in the UK, was diagnosed with Juvenile Batten Disease in October of 2021.

Batten is a disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. Worse still, her father likened the illness to "childhood dementia”. Therefore, her parents have been working hard to fulfill her bucket list so she can make a few more wonderful memories before she loses hers.

That’s where good ol’ Ed comes in. The family was flown from the UK to Munich to meet the rockstar and "Caitlin's jaw was on the floor when he walked out,” Caitlin's father Nick Passey recalled. Was it just a drive-by “Hello”? Absolutely not, Nick added, "We got to spend about 15 minutes with him and he was the most amazing, down-to-earth guy.” Score on more for the “Thinking Out Loud” singer who always seems to be making somebody’s day.
